Co-founder and owner of Dominion Academy. Judo black belt, dad of the boys who inspired it, and the one answering your questions at your first class.

Kyle Bowker and his wife, Larissa, started Dominion Academy because of their kids.
Their boys were doing well at a great elementary school. They were good students and they loved school, but they spent the entire day at a desk. They're also passionate about sports, and they do their best in a physical environment where they're allowed to be energetic.
So the Bowkers built that environment. At Dominion, a student can step away from the books to put in time on the mat, stretch, or just move, then come back to schoolwork ready to focus. The academy opened in Mustang in May 2026 with competition mats and crash pads on one side and a study room on the other.
The Bowkers are a grappling family, too. Kyle is a judo black belt, and part of the mission is giving the community good coaching for competition judo and wrestling, for kids and adults alike.
Kyle sees Dominion as a fourth option for families who think school only comes in three versions: public, private, or home. It works alongside the school a family has already chosen instead of replacing it.
When you bring a new student in, Kyle is usually the one standing off the mat. That's on purpose. He'd rather answer every question you have while your child is in class than have you wonder.
In Kyle's own words.
My wife Larissa and I decided to start Dominion Academy because of our kids. The boys were in a great elementary school where they were successful, but they were tied to a desk for the entire day. The boys are good students, and they love school, but they are passionate about sports and thrive in a physical environment where they are allowed to be energetic and express themselves.
The academy gives them a space where it is ok to take a break from their studies and put some time in on the mat or just do some stretching and physical activity. We are also a grappling family and wanted to help the community by providing good coaching for competition Judo as well as wrestling.
Your first week is free. Bring shorts and a t-shirt and we'll take care of the rest.
