Built for kids who do their best work when they get to move

Kyle and Larissa Bowker opened Dominion Academy in Mustang in May 2026 for their own boys: one building where schoolwork and time on the mat share the same day.

How Dominion started

Kyle and Larissa Bowker started Dominion Academy because of their kids.

Their boys were succeeding at a great elementary school, but they were tied to a desk for the entire day.

The boys are good students, and they love school, but they are passionate about sports and thrive in a physical environment where they are allowed to be energetic and express themselves.

So the Bowkers built a place where taking a break from studies to get on the mat, stretch, or move is part of the school day instead of a distraction from it. And because they're a grappling family, they wanted to give the community something more: good coaching for competition judo and wrestling.

Dominion Academy opened in Mustang in May 2026. Today it runs evening judo and wrestling for ages 9 through adult, a full-day Student-Athlete Academy, an after-school program, and Tiny Tots for parents with little ones.

A fourth option

Most families assume school comes in three forms: public, private, or homeschool. Kyle doesn't see Dominion as competing with any of them. It works alongside whichever one your family chose, adding structure, coaching, and a team.

Why a lion

Our students are the Dominion Lions. The lion is our mascot and team identity. You'll see it on the banner out front and on the team shirts.

Inside the building

Everything a student needs for a full day is under one roof.

Competition mats

A full spread of blue wrestling and judo mats with competition circles, so students train on the same surface they'll compete on.

Crash pads and throwing dummies

Students learn new throws on thick crash pads and practice entries on throwing dummies before trying them on a partner.

Desks, chairs, and quiet. Full-day students do their online coursework here between training blocks, with a coach in the room.

Discipline, structure, mastery

Those three words are on our Facebook page for a reason. They're the whole philosophy.

Discipline means showing up and doing the work when nobody's checking. Structure is the schedule, the routines, and the coaches who make discipline easier to learn. Mastery is what happens when you combine the two for long enough, on the mat and in school.
