Getting started

How do I sign up?

What should my child wear to the first class?

Athletic shorts and a t-shirt. Judo students get a trial gi at the academy and keep it if they join.

What happens at the first visit?

You sign a waiver at the front, and your child joins the class. Kyle usually stays off the mat with new families to answer questions and help you sign up if you decide to.

Does my child need any experience?

No. Most students start as complete beginners.

Ages and programs

What ages do you teach?

Ages 3 to 6 in Tiny Tots (with a parent), about 8 and up in After School, 9 through adult in evening judo and wrestling, and 5th grade and up in the full-day Student-Athlete Academy. Kids younger than 9 can sometimes join evening classes after an evaluation.
