Your child keeps the online or charter school you chose. They do the work here, with coaches checking progress, and train judo and wrestling between study blocks.
Online school gives families flexibility. It also leaves a gap: someone has to make sure the work actually gets done, every day, while parents are at their own jobs.
Oklahoma's Statewide Charter School Board says it plainly in its advice to parents considering full-time online school: students need a strong work ethic, lots of home support, and an adult providing daily supervision and direction.
The Student-Athlete Academy is that adult, plus a training partner. Students log into their own school from our study room. Coaches watch their progress, step in when they're stuck, and keep the day moving. Twice a day, everyone gets on the mat.
Desks, computers, quiet, and a coach in the room all day. Students log into their own online school here between training blocks.

This is the full schedule. Most students use part of it, based on what their coach, their parents, and they decide together.
Students work at their own pace. A student with a heavy assignment load might skip the afternoon training block two days a week. One who's ahead might train both blocks every day.

Your child likes online school, but the house is empty from 8 to 5. Here, someone is checking in all day.
Your kids get the structure of a training schedule and teammates their age, without giving up the curriculum you chose.
Two training blocks a day is more mat time than most school programs offer, and the flexible academic schedule makes room for travel to tournaments.
No. Your child stays enrolled in the online or charter school your family chooses, and that school issues grades, transcripts, and diplomas. Dominion provides the place, the daily structure, coaching support for schoolwork, and athletic training.
Any of them. Families can use any of Oklahoma's virtual charter schools, including Epic Charter Schools, Oklahoma Virtual Charter Academy, Oklahoma Connections Academy, Insight School of Oklahoma, Dove Virtual Academy, E-School Virtual Charter Academy, Virtual Preparatory Academy, and ThrivePoint Academy, or a homeschool curriculum of their own.
No. Some students come all five days and some come two or three. The schedule is built around each student, and parents can drop off and pick up at any time.
Coach Jodie Shavers is the academic coach right now. He monitors each student's progress in their online school, helps when they're stuck, and keeps them on pace. We plan to add a professional educator to the staff as the program grows.
Most do, but it's flexible. A student might take both training blocks three days a week and only the morning block on the others. Coaches, parents, and the student decide together.
The full-day program focuses on 5th grade and up, because students need to be able to work through online lessons with some independence.
